OFF HIGHWAY DIESEL?

I only used it a few times when I was first trying out the WMO blend because I thought the sulfar and ppm level of the ORD was higher. Turns out it's not, so I use normal diesel now. Might cost me a little more in road tax, but much cheaper than a fine and more easily available.

it all depends where you buy it some places still sell the 500 PPM ord(low sulfur) instead of the 15 PPM hwy(ultra low sulfur). i heard of a guy blending 75% ORD and 25% BLACK WO(motor, hydraulic, gear and so on...)
could one get caught with that?

That was kinda my thinking on it when I was using it in my mixture. If the chemical is being tested for, then it will still be present no matter how you mix it. I don't know for sure though, and I don't intend to find out the spendy way either.

I found some Low sulfur diesel in SD when I was driving through. It was nice but It was winter and well below 0F so I didnt use it!

ATF is a great additive. It makes for a sweet lubricant as well as cleaner. Too bad it's colored as it is. I always put some in the tractors (both gas and diesel) to clean up and lube things, every once in a while. That's why I save my old oils. Plus I run a mix in the house tank of old oils and #2.

When I used to work for an oil jobber, I ran On Road diesel in the house tank because I got it for less than the cost of off road, or heating oil (but again that was well over 10 years ago). And it made a HUGE difference in heating quality, more BTU's and cleaner running which made cleaning the burners much easier.

The whole point of this post? I wouldn't run dyed fuel through my system because it doesn't make sense to me. Sure the initial cost is lower, but it runs dirtier and I can't afford the fricken' HUGE fines I'd have to pay if I did run it and got caught. It's just my luck.

And by my luck I mean I'd get pulled over if I had the wrong radio station on. That's my luck.

If you are going to use ORF get an in bed fuel tank w a pump and discreatly plumb it into your fuel system. Then fill your regular tanks w regular fuel, and never use it. It will be the best 60 dollars worth of fuel you will never use
