My buddie just bought a 99 F250 with the psd of course. It has a fairly new Ats turbo and a 6 in Rancho lift with 35 in BFG All terrains. I belive it has a fuel metering block mounted close to the hpop. I am wondering how to turn it down. He is only getting like 12 mpgs and is tired of it. It aslo has a air tank where the spare tire should be. There is crossmember or something that was removed behind the transfer case area. Plus there is a switch thaat is activated when the hood is closed. Plus a 5 inch screen in the dash that does nothing. We find more stuff allmost everyday. One thing that I have never seen is on the tranny coller lines there are unions. on one lines there is a drain deal??? The big thing getting better fuel mileage!!!! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

have a picture of what you think is a metering block?

its not gonna get much better than 12MPG.by the way you describe finding things in this truck it most likely had a programmer on it.

the screen in the dash is probably for a back up camara or dvd player.

picture of the missing crossmember area?

picture of the tranny lines?i know the 4r100 had some things that you dont see on the e4od.the unions in the lines are probably for testing the line pressures in the tranny.

A lift and 35s don't improve mileage at all. My 2k only has one crossmember and it holds the xfer case up. What do you think was removed?

My stock 99 gets 16-18, pulling a 30 ft. 5er I averaged 11.2 in 15K miles to Alaska and back. Truck had 124K on it at that time in 08, now has 178K.
Pics of your questions would be nice. Have no idea of what your asking about a fuel metering block.

Edit: Could this be what your seeing as a fuel metering block, the fuel regulator? There was a few changes made from early 99 to late 99 they call 99.5.

My phone wont let me look at the picture any bigger. I know for a fact that this metering block is after market as the fuel inlet lin on the fuel bowl is cut and folded over. the new line comes from behind the turbo into the block and the out towards the passenger side. it has a nut on top with a allen head piece in the middle of that. I will work on pics tomm. I may have said this allready but I know the 35s and lift dont help but I thought it should be getting atleast 15 mpgs not 11. Been spending so much time in the shop I havent had time to talk to my buddie but I will deff gtets pics sent to my phone tomm and have to downlaod to email then photobucket so bare with me fellas. If my good phone was working this would take less than 5 mins now itt akes 3 days. grrrrrrrrrr

Oh ok. So hes stuck with the crappy fuel mileage? He was gunna get a 97 ex cab long bed cummings 5 speed 4x4 buut his wifey said it ugly so they got the stroker. Now hes not happy with it. He likes it but he dosent like a 100 bucks a week in fuel. plus he changed the fuel filter and the drain seals started leaking when the truck was running and he lost a lot of fuel. I plugged it and it worked for a week then it started coming out up top where there was a small piece of hose in the drain line with no hose clamps on it. He orderd the seal kit for 46 on line and it is a Ford part. Im sure I will be doing that when it comes in.

if he wants better fuel mileage he needs to drive it normal.by the way you describe it sounds like it still has the PCM reprogrammed and who knows what else done to it.hes probably playing with it to hear the turbo whistle and stuff.

He drives pretty normal better than I do. lol Im also leaning towards the program still being in the pcm. I even suggested that to him. He wants to get it on the dyno just gotta find one around Ft Wayne ot Indy.
