obs zf5 conversion ?

all right im converting my 97 f250 to a five speed from an auto and I took flexplate off and tried to put the flywheel on but when I hold it up to crank it sticks out way to far so im wondering if autos have what looks like a extension on the back of crankshaft because of flexplate is so small compared to flywheel and manuals have none. im picturing that extension has to come off but I have no idea how heres a pic, any ideas??? or am I even on the right track.

yes there is a spacer for the auto flywheel.tap it off with a hammer,it should fall off with a few light taps.
