The truck had a blown engine, needed a new one to get it off the guy's lot.
Not a bad looking truck once the sheetmetal on the RHS was fixed.
God why am I starting to like old Fords so much?

You like them because they look really good with some work and they are good dependable trucks, you just think you need more power bc you want to go faster, and the other guy want to sale it (after the new engine) bc he doesn't like this old trucks as much as Mike
ps- No mean to offend just having fun along with you guys.

Well, the thing that gets me is that we didn't like the '80-'86 body style. Never have. Then we saw that truck, and I actually like it. Hiccup.
So I guess what we're saying is that the older body styles are starting to grow on me.

Seriously, though... My IDI wouldn't be so bad with a fresh coat of paint, Ken's IP and injectors, and new seats. The problem is that the steps to get to that point would require LOTS of hard work and effort on my part, and I just don't have the time to prep the truck and micromanage the guys at MAACO to make sure they'll do things right. Then gotta fix the drone in the steering/floorboard. Etc., etc., I bet these trucks were something else when they were new.
I think these "brickish" Ford trucks are the prettiest trucks I've ever seen on a dealer's lot. I remember drooling over them while driving from Texas to Alabama in '89 when my family was in the midst of a move. These trucks looked SO good on the dealers' lots and on the road back then.

Yep, I agree, they are steely, solid looking trucks, that last a long time... Just the gremlins that haggle with them, that makes my mind into mush. Scotty
