So I sent my IP back to Ken about 3 weeks ago. Not including shipping time, he's had it for I think about 2 1/2 weeks. He told me it would be done over a week ago (Thursday or Friday he said). I called this past Tuesday & spoke with Paul who told me they still didn't have the shaft in & had know idea when it was coming in. "It's not a common item" or something close to that is what he told me.

I don't want to trash the guys over there & I've been pleased with there products, until the IP took a dump, but how can you be in the Diesel Performance business & not have some parts or some extra pumps in stock? It's been almost a month since the truck was running & I think this is getting ridiculous. It shouldn't take this long to fix it, should it?

The IP shaft sheared for some reason. I pulled the IP timing gear to look down & make sure nothing was lodged between the cam gear & IP gear & all was in good order. I don't know why it did what it did. Bad from the start maybe? I don't drag race or sled pull, just tow a trailer once ina while. It doesn't see much abuse if any.

There have been SO many posts about lousy service from this guy. It's no surprise to me that there is a problem.

He sounds more like someone running a sideline hobby business than a real legitimate operation.

therein lies the problem when you are the only game in town. I know a couple of shops that have nonexistent customer service but they stay busy due to the simple fact that they happen to be the best in what they do. Anybody can do the simple stuff with these trucks, but when you need to take it to the "next level" the buy-in for the tooling is extremely high. i know the fustration of being locked to the phones, 90% of the calls are pure BS and the last 10% is actual income. but seriously though, this is a small enough of a community that word will get around and the phones will stop ringing in time.

I don't want to see DPS go under, just think after being a paying customer & having paid for a product only to have it fail in a months time, I would be put at the top of the "things to do" list.

I know it was said in some post that this IS a part time thing for Ken. It would seem he's got enough going on to make it full time & handle things a little better.

I'm dissapointed that the pump failed but I'm pissed it's taking this long to fix it after being told it was going out the door last Friday. If you don't know when it will be done then tell me that so I can find a spare pump to use or something.

Well, this is only the 3rd or 4th person to have a problem that i know of and one was not a problem, another was a total fabrication(the powderchoke ******** on STD....I got the other side of the story and he pretty much left out WHY Ken didn't finish his truck and put it outside.),Then my gripes which is pretty much the same as you.......Other than those 4 actual events I have only heard complaints about getting him on the phone.

I finally got mine, but it took a while, and a few calls.
Wish I had that kind of knowledge. As stated here, If I were that busy, I would do it full time. customer service is huge.

That doesn't explain why the truck was left outside without a hood. Even if the service was unpaid, there is no reason to damage the vehicle due to negligence.

I deal with cars for a living. Each vehicle is insured to $50,000 to cover possible damage. Additionally, I hold a mechanics' lien against any vehicle so that if someone chooses to not pay, I obtain title and sell the vehicle to cover my expenses.

It's the amount of time that is now the problem. When I did get him on the phone after it happened, I told him I would ship the pump back but please take care of it quickly. I use the truck to get to & from work as well as use the truck for work sometimes. He assured me he understood & would take care of it as soon as he got it. I'm pleased with his products, IP included. They deliver the performance promised. I don't think the pump snapping is a reflection on Ken or his products. I just want a straight answer on how long it will take to fix.

IDI's aren't his only line of products. I sent over $3000.00 worth of business his way (all from 1 guy) for a 2002 Powerstroke. Also excellent stuff. I drive that truck pretty often & it is mind boggling how fast that truck is now with Ken's chip, exhaust, & a BB turbo. So he's probably not living off IDI's alone.

I'm trying not to be an ass about this. Crap happens now & then. But every time I have to walk out the back door & see the truck sitting in the same spot it's been in for the last month, I get pissed all over again that I can't get anyone one the freakin' phone unless it's 10:00am & that I've been expect a UPS truck for the last week to no avail.

Thats just it.It didn't stay outside as long as the guy claimed. Here goes...

Guy blows up his powerstroke after installing Performance parts,Ford Voids Warrentee,Guy got a suit against ford.Expected to get 7K out of it,Hired Ken to build a non-streetable monster that was going to set him back $14K.Paid 7K down and was going to pay when Ford lost,Ken got a bunch of parts and did a lot of work like porting heads(the pics the nut job puts out there are pictures Ken sent the kid while he was doing the port and polish).Well,he looses the suit so he can't pay anymore.Tells Ken he wants a milder truck but Ken has already started some irriversable mods.Guy won't listen and tells Ken just to give him back his money and truck.....They fight since Ken is out money on the parts and labor he already has done. They finally make an agreement(he wouldn't tell me what and I didn't ask),Ken give him back some of the money,Give him a stock set of heads and keeps the ported heads the guy keeps posting pictures of.Tells him to come get his truck and he moves it outside.Guy never comes and truck sets out there for a while before the guy finally sends someone to pick it up.End of story.
