Hey thanks! Now I can crawl in the snow and get some comparing done... Ha ha

You know it's nice to see something of that vintage that doesn't have rust as a major component underneath.

I'll try to get some in the daylight soon. There's no rust on the vehicles around here because we're far enough inland from the ocean to avoid the "salty" air, and the road departments don't use salt on the roads.:D

Pics Of Front Suspension

Hey are pics of my front axle and springs. The driver's side spring is coated in power steering fluid because my gearbox is leaking and I haven't fixed it yet.

Here's one more of the front. Also added a few more of the rear suspension (taken in the daylight this time:D). Hope these help for comparison. I have two more pics that I will add later that show the clearance of the tires the the fenderwells.

Here are the pics of the clearance. The tires are 35" and I have 8 1/2" from top of rear tire to the bed, and 6 1/4" from the top of the front tire to the fender.

Spoke to Towcat and found out that this truck had been "lifted" with larger blocks in the rear and springs and drop brackets in the front. I was told that it was factory, but the PO could have been mistaken about this. I'm not complaining, but I'm glad to find this out now rather than go through all the work to put the rearched springs under it and find out it sits the same height.

Did you get all of your wood spilt yet:D

Yep... Got it split just in time to go get a bigger load this weekend. I'll be taking the trailer this time.:D Didn't even think about it, but with the truck loaded like it was and I had to panic brake or somebody pulled out in front of me, all that firewood would have come into the cab with me.

ya i was gonna say you need some bigger straps and some tie down points mounted in the bed for a load like that. I got all of mine split and ready to go cut some more i think i have 4 more trips to make even with the trailer.

Another Load Of Firewood

Went and got more wood today.:D I used the trailer this time.;Sweet I still have at least half a pickup load to go pick up, but I had to stop loading because the chains I have wouldn't be long enough to chain it all down if I went any higher.

The Explorer didn't... We took a co-workers 2002 Dodge 2500 with a 24 Valve Cummins. It did fine, but I wish I'd been able to pull it in my truck instead. I had to ride in the Dodge for about 70 miles (round trip). I also got to take flying lessons while loading the truck bed with wood.
