ford 350 diesel 7.3 automatic transmition the rpm tach stop working and the overdrive button ligth still on all time ,and my trans not working properly i change the tach sensor but still not working. i need help (ian) from puerto rico)

Ian welcome to Oilburners.

More than likely it's the speed sensor on the rear differential, when it goes it causes the trouble you are describing.

Ian, it sits on top of the differential and has a small wiring harness attached. I think when I had to replace mine it was about $45.00 or so, not sure what it will cost in the Islands.

ok i founded but how i now is bad is eny way to now thanks a lottt

Remove it from the differential housing and clean it, the sensor can and will pick up fine metal particles that float around in the gear fluid and that can mess up the function of the sensor..... also would recommend a differential fluid change.
