I am going to do my best to explain this new issue. Today while driving my truck seemed to drastically loose power, then it would immediately return. Tach would drop, then rise. For lack of better terms, maybe surge? Crazy thing was, at idle the tach would drop to near zero..but the engine sounded like it was idling fine. I’ve had the lift pump go out twice before and this just seemed different.
I was running on a little below half tank at that time, pulled into gas station and filled up. After the fill up it smoothed out and did not repeat the issue for the remainder(about 15 miles) home. My first thoughts are either bad fuel, or the shower head in tank broke off and it was sucking air, which was resolved after filling up? Any thoughts are appreciated.
