I recently picked up a 1991 F350 with the 7.3 IDI Navistar and 5 speed. The cab is toast but I did not buy the truck for it anyway I will be putting one of my 1953 International cabs and box onto the frame.:sly So all in all I will have an interesting International 1 ton. A few years ago I worked indirectly for U-Haul as a service tech from my own garage and loved those 7.3s, so damn simple to work on. Anyway here's a couple of pictures of before.

Welcome to the forum. Please read the Hall of Shame before you buy from any ebay seller. Those listed in the hall have earned that all on their own for ripping off the buyers. Looks like you have a nice project ahead of yourself. Please do take lots of pics. Many of us live thru good pics of a project like this.

Hey a fellow Canuk~ sweet! Welcome to OB, and have fun. That looks like a great truck that old one and would make a really cool project for sure!

Keep up the pics and take some time to read through the FAQ and tech sections as well.

Thanks for joining

That is a fantastic project man. I can't wait to see the progress. I really hope to see that rig one of these days at an IDI rally.

As postd above.. Seeing that rig with an idi in it at a rally would be sweet. I wouldn't even paint it. I think the truck looks great just how it sits there. I love seeing rigs like that. Sitting there waiting for someone to lay on the hands of restoration to a point. Your going to have a fun project right there..

I certainly am thinking about leaving the patina just the way it is. This is also one of two 1953 Internationals in my stable. The second one is an R160 or for those unsure what that means it is a 2 ton

This one I don't have any idea what drive train I'll be putting into.

Wow.. Not one but two choices to build up. Thats a tuff decision. I think I would build the first rusty truck. It seems to yell more patina.. Hey look at me...:sly

Just got back from Calgary and am impressed with the R160, aside from the dented grill and hood she's in pretty good shape. He's also throwing in a set of 8.25 R20 tires free. I'll be heading back down to bring the truck here next month so I can start on it as well. I'm thinking about trying to pick up a Cummins for this one, might be an interesting build too.:sly:sly:sly
