well,New problem........Gee who would have thunk it.......Found out my wipers don't work now.For a while(since it got home) I would hear the rattling/crunching sound(kinda a mix between a rat stuck behind the firewall and an electrical arcing sound).Noticed yesterday that the wipers kinda twitched while the sound was happening. So I turned them on and yep, nothing,Helped them up and the did a move a 1/4" stop and wait.Move an inch stop and wait.....etc until they got all the way up and I decided to help them back home. When I turned them off and helped them back to home the noise stopped. So I conclude the motor is what I have been hearing. What say you people.Motor,Electrical,Electronic, etc?

Also, this one is for Travis. What did you have covering the big **** gaping hole in the filter elbow for the banks turbo?Just noticed there is nothing covering it and remember seing a strip of metal or something right after I got it.Would apear that those nub nuts ditched with when they removed everything.

Could be a bad motor or broken /badly worn linkage. Check the mounts that the wiper arms are on. They are cast aluminum and I had one break on my '76 F100 that caused one of the wipers to flop all over the place.

Could also just be a bad switch. I have the same problem with mine and I am going to get a new switch first since its a lot cheaper than a motor.

Check the connection on the motor, mine was acting strange for over a year after I replaced the motor, I replaced the steering switch and still nothing changed, then I pulled the connector plug at the motor and cleaned everything and not they work like they are suppose to.

Well seeing as how you left her to rot in a field of dreams... ;Poke LOL (you know I had to poke you about that) I would check the connections throughout the system because they worked just like brand new when she left here...

Now as for covering the hole that was a special gasket that you can't just find anywhere... it was a cut up mud flap (one of the IH ones on her hips) if you notice they are shortened up a bit to fit her (they were the semi truck versions). What I did was take a piece from them when I shortened them and used metal strapping that you can buy at any local hardware store and covered the hole - you will want to cover this because this is the where the CDR used to live so that means your sucking in UNFILTERED air down her throat.... Yes it was a Redneck fix but it worked perfect!)

ok,thanks.I am glad I saw that big **** gapping hole back there POST filter.Might just take it to a local welder and have it professionally filled in.....Or just make a custom stainless elbox that will fit the turbo and the filter so it looks all pretty and shinny. But I think for now a chunk of Mud Flap and some more banding will work...Maybe a line of "Hollywood Bondo" around it to be sure no chunkies get by.

well,I can post it runs.....9.0 on the timing meter.....good whistle....NO MORE NEUTRAL FOG!Still gotta get back in there and build a new cover for that damn CDR hole in the filter elbow that cummings lost and move the down pipe clamp up about a 1/2" so it is actually pulling the pipes together......Then....I gotta take it by the PO PO station so I can have an inspection since they require all out of state purchased vehicles to be inspected to make sure the VIN is correct. Then I get to go stand in line with all the illegals and finally offically get the papers that say I own the E not Travis.....yea,I haven't had the title change yet...
