The engines going into the '83 up to early '85 trucks had a weakness in the block, where the block heater is installed. When it heated up, it could crack the block. There's a document floating around showing the engine serial number where the improvement was made which prevents this.

I want to swap the differentials in my truck, mine are 4,10 I believe, look at the sticker, the beige one is from my truck, the blue one is from the donor truck which has 5.0 EFI (1896) with E4OD.
