Mufflers

I have asked before but not have a clear answer. I want to put 4" exhuast on my 91 in the sig. I dont have a turbo and want a straight threw muffler on it to make it sound deeper and take some of the noise out of it. I dont really want an answer of dont run a muffler because I can hardly hear on my phone as it is now stock and I dont want it to get to bad.

So whats a good 4" in out straight threw diesel muffler. And I dont want a glasspack.

if all you're going for a a straight through louvered core muffler, any heavy duty truck muffler will do. I have a 3' long, 3 chambered units on all the towtrucks. cost? $125. i am not in a rustbelt state, and they are the last muffler the trucks will ever see.

Call Hypermax. They have a system for your truck that flows well and doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

i bought a magna flow 4" straight threw muffler off ebay for $93 quite when at idle but gets pretty loud at wot

I bougth an entire 4" system with muffler and SS tip from this guy. It went on very easy, well thought out and better performance than stock. It is wuiter than stock no muffler by a long shot, but it is still loud copmare to stock with muffler.

Thanks, I dont need a kit my neighbor does performance exhaust I just wanted some opinions on the mufflers. I want loud just not obnoxious.

cool yeah I see a 14" oval one too. The longer it is the quieter I guess? How does it sound?

i like it,,, i dont know how it would sound on the idi but the cummins it sounds pretty good i think i would think it would sound better on the idi

by the way my exhaust just dumps out right behind the cab with a turndown right after the muffler and just cruising around it dosnt drone or really give much noise at all until u put your foot in it then it really wakes up

Go to Truck Pro and get a commercial big truck 4" straight through muffler. Price is very reasonable and they work great and they will last forever. I've got one on mine. Built the whole system up from pieces I bought there from the downpipe back. You can get the high quality commercial band clamps there as well instead of the U bolts. They are much nicer to use. You can get the pipes apart if you need to later and they seal tight.
