Motorcraft Fuel Filters?

I usually buy filters in bulk. This time I bought 10 Motorcraft FD 811's as they were the least expensive at the time.

Granted I'm playing around with vegetable oil, but it sure seems like they clog in no time flat. Anyone have any experience with these being crappy filters?

Id say cut one of the clogged ones open and see how it looks.

I did they don't look bad at all. The medium, however seems to be very stiff.

Get yourself a sieve type strainer inline before your lift pump. It'll catch the bigger stuff before it makes it to the filter. You really should strain it a couple times before you dump it in the tank.

I centrifuge a 55 gallon for 6 hours, this should get me to sub-micron levels. I also pump to the tank through a 1 micron nominal.

my centrifuge allows the large floating stuff to pass through it so there is a filter after the CF to catch the floaters--simple centrifuge, not sure if the dieselcraft CF is the same way.

Mine doesn't let a damn thing through if done properly. Thats what the 1 micron post is for - added security...

are you filtering hot if so it should be no hotter than the coldest part of your system. that buttery stuff get picked up big time when i cf cold.

I CF at 160f minimum which is what is required for flash evap.
