You should take a look at your pyro probe, all of the non-gated setups I have seen have them in the pedestal, pre turbo. Not nearly as quick to react as in the manifold, but, higher temps are still safer than those post. Better to be safe than sorry, about 900 is all you want to see maintained if it's post.

I wont be able to look for a while, kinda busy, but I do know that it is very close to the firewall..... on the backside of the turbo...
