ok so prior to installing my 7.3 in my superduty I rebuilt the oil cooler. I also did a compression check and all cylinders were right around 400. After about 10 minutes of running the engine in chassis the oil has taken on a grayish color almost white. i have seen worse than this before in gassers. There is no missfire and it cranks right up however im concerned about head gaskets or a cracked head/block. There is some oil residue in the surge tank so I am praying I botched the cooler rebuild. Does anyone know if a hydrocarbon test will work on a diesel engine?
