My preference should be obvious. I drive a stick.
Which is better? You mean, which will last longer
in severe conditions? Me thinks the stick will.
In 2000 when we were looking to buy six more
trucks, we looked at GM. The 3500 we were scoping
out had a higher tow rating with the automatic trans.
They would last just over a year though. Ya, the boys were
******* the company owned tow trucks, but they didn't
usually "break" manuals. Little ******* the clutches though.
Something else just came to mind. A boss of mine had
a mid eighty's Gm P/U with a four speed in it. He one
day decided to have it swapped over to an auto. I
thought it would climb slower with the trailer, but
nope, that sucker started to just haul ass up the
hills. Like twenty five + MPH faster.
I like sticks. I'm with AL on this one.
