Just found WiFi access in Newport. Made it over the pass just fine and stayed in Lincoln City last night. Met up with In2Fords and had dinner. Helped him on his truck for a bit today, and headed on south to South Beach State Park (just south of Newport). We'll be there tonight, and then either head back home or stay another night. Sorry to make this so short, but typing behind the steering wheel isn't that comfortable.

I just came in from working on the exploder, I guess after 230K miles its allowed to give me a couple fits. I havent gotten it fixed yet, I hope to have it done bout noon tomorrow. Ill give you a call bout noonish to wake you up

I didn't bring the snow! YOU said it was sunny over here, and I just got to see the sun for the first time in two days. I'm staying another night at South Beach State Park (1 mile south of Newport). If you get a vehicle going, head down and BS for awhile. Sounds like I'm headed back tomorrow afternoon and might run north to take Hwy. 22 back across. (HINT, HINT FordGuy100...)

Rather than start a new post, I'll just add onto this one. Just walked in the door after a 7.5 hour trip from Newport to Bend (Normally only takes about 4 hours). Started out that we were going to take Hwy. 20 back from Newport, but by the time we got to the start of the pass that way, Hwy. 20 had a "Chains Required" policy, so we called TripCheck and it said that Hwy. 22 was "Carry Chains", so off north towards Salem we went. Got onto Hwy. 22 and got to Mill City to find out that now Hwy. 22 is also "Chains Required". I had a set of chains, but didn't want to put them on if I didn't have to. I fell into the "clause" of being under 10,000# (even with camper) and 4x4 with traction tires, so I headed over. It was pretty slick (spun a little on some of the hills even in 4x4 and the weight of the camper on the rear axle), but was able to average about 30 mph until about 20 miles from Bend. Had no issues with the truck (other than ran out of fuel on the rear tank - thinking some got siphoned while it was parked by the beach because it was FULL when we arrived) or Explorer, but did get to see a Dodge 1500 on it's side over a snowbank on the way back. I'll catch up on what I've missed on here tomorrow, but just wanted to let everyone know that I made it back safe and sound.

Sorry I didnt get back to you in time man. I was sitting in class when you called, and shrugged it off. I figured it would have been chains required, it was snowing down in the valley this morning, the mountains must have gotten a good amount.

Glad you and family made it safe, Im hoping this doesnt last long.
I got the sploder running but I still need a ignition actuator rod. cant find one anywear for my 96.
As soon as I get it going Ill make my way to your side of the pass, that is after the snow anyway
