lug checkers?

Hey guys, anyone know where I can get a set of those green arrow lug checkers you put on each lug like newer f450s or cab and chassis fords have? Id like a set for my rig, just for looks to be honest. I saw some on ebay once but it was a bag of 100

Being born in the tire business and around it my entire life, changing and repairing tires on all sizes of trucks and trailers from all points of the compass, I have never yet encountered a set of those actually in use on a truck or trailer.

Honestly, I clicked on the thread purely out of curiousity, because I had no idea what was meant.

I had not heard of these either. I ave had a few instances of loose lug nuts so I think I may buy these. Quick and easy to make sure your tire won't be rollin without you.

I've seen them on quite a few garbage trucks around here. Neat idea, since you can tell at a glance if the lugs have moved... Probably more important where the tires are always being removed for service or something...

you guys haven't seen these before? I'm surprised... around here I see them all the time on school/city buses, garbage/waste trucks, and lots of commercial vehicles... There also some availlable that sort of lock together so that the nuts can't really even turn in the first place...

Well....Being Canadian, we see them here quite a bit...and if you see a truck driving...you can tell if a wheel is loose cause that pointer sticks out and blurs the line wider...keep your distance...

I've thought about them for my truck...cause well I'm a safety conscious fellow...maybe I'll get some!

Thanks for the link, wheels coming off happen here too...it's just something that happens and it can be from OVER torque as much as under...

I'd think that a lot of the OTR drivers don't like them because they aren't pretty... Maybe if they start making them in chrome?

Chrome DON"T getcha HOME...or SAFE....causes lots of problems to metalurgy!

Funny, those garbage trucks you see come up to my shop for repair They have been around for a couple years. All republic garbage trucks in our area have them.

The video on the wheel-check site explains it, the fine for a lost wheel in the USA is like $150 and it is $50,000 in Canada. I think anyway, I tried to watch it again and it isn't working at the moment.
