I'd say that is a $1500 project truck.
If you are willing to come to WY, I have an 86 6.9 with an auto trans that has a dually kit. There is a decent service/tool bed on it. $1500 takes it away. $900 if you don't want the service box.

The truck has been used up, maybe worth $1200-1500 if it has a D60 front axle. I do not know if those were available in 1985 on F350. Perhaps it came with the dually add on. Lots of questions left unanswered, some red flags.

Do not feel bad about letting this one go by. It may be available for some time.

A friend's father had really good response to the question, "how much is it worth?" No matter what it was, he would say, "$35 a ton." Kind of puts used vehicles in perspective.

If you sweet talk Calvin and he still has his bullnose in middle of nowhere Texas, he might offer it to you for a price that is much better than that $4K piece of work.
