As the title implies, the hard line from the filter head to the back of the ip is leaking at the pump. Can this be replaced with a rubber line? Can I get a new line? Where do I get the olives to fix. I need the fastest solution of the most proper now.
I need to get the truck running. I believe this is what is causing my rough idle, smoking issue. I have just replaced the injectors w/ bbs from Mel and the return lines and installed a bull moose. It is a relatively steady drip at the rear of the ip. Thanx in advance for any help.

Yeah, get the olives.
Have you tried snugging up the line nuts?
Pretty sure Mel and typ4 have the olives. Or you can just use rubber hose cut into a olive for now.

I have them tight enough that I am afraid I will break it. I had a viton o ring I used to try to replace the olive but it hasn't worked. Maybe it's too hard to compress?

If you just replaced the IP with a Moose unit then you have to have removed the hard line between the IP and the fuel filter. I'll bet money that the olives in there, at both ends of that hard line, are old and brittle. It leaked as soon as you disturbed it. It was no longer able to seal because it could not adapt itself, reshape itself, when you put the line back on. You need to replace the olive at each end of that hard line. That's two olives.

You replaced the IP with a Moose unit. Give Mel a call. I'm pretty sure he'll be happy to sell you some olives.

Once again, here is a picture, posted here a number of times before, of that same hard line, with both the old olive and a new one.

If you can't easily reach the lower hard lines just remove the top lines till you can reach it. Remember to reinstall ALL the line vibration clamps or running the engine will crack some hard lines. The hex size of the nut on the hard line is 5/8. If you take a deep 5/8 socket thats 3/8 drive you can modify it to reach the lower hard line nuts. Best to use an impact socket for this. Where the nut fits the socket you must cut out a slot so the hard line can fit thru it. Back farther up the socket needs to be opened up to fit the hard line bends. Look on ebay for one of these sockets so you know what it looks like. Remember its 5/8 size but any 3/4 socket too will look the same for this type of job.
Went searching ebay for Injector Hard Line Socket... Found this so you have an idea what it looks like should you choose to modify one of yours.

Crows foot with a short extension worked for me to get to the bottom lines. It's a pain to fit but it works.

Got the bottom line tight. 1/4" wobble ratchet 1/4x3/8 adapter, short extension and 5/8 crowd foot! My question now is, are there olives in all the injection hard lines? It seems like I still have some weeping and the truck is still running rough. Thanx in advance for all your help.

There is no Olives in the injector hard lines. You may have a cracked line if it's still leaking or it's cross threaded , hope not. Did the lines have the clamps on before or now? This is how the clamps should be.The lines have a tapered end to seat.

Yes the had the clamps untill now. I don't think they are cross threaded they start easy by hand. I tried turning the pump a dimes width and no change. I am going to try replacing the lift pump and rubber lines and put new olives in the hard supply lines and see what happens. I am totally out of ideas.
