leak at the injector pump

Okay, so on the back of the pump you've got the 8 lines going out to the injectors and there is a line right in the middle that brings fuel into the pump. My line is leaking. A long time ago I discovered the leak and upon inspecting that line, it has a little gasket deal down in it unlike the rest of the lines that just kinda of have a metal on metal contact and seal. So anyways, i rigged up a little o-ring from an O-ring set thing I had, but I'm thinking it wasn't viton and I believe it's leaking now, that's if it ever even stopped leaking 100%. Is there someway to fix this up better? Can this one line be purchased or something? This line is such a pain in the butt to get to too, especially in the van.

This line has been discussed on here about 10,000 times. The seal is known as an Olive. Typ4 has them, IH dealers have them, or take a rubber hose 5/16 ID and cut 3/8" long piece and stuff it in the nut.

Thats what it is. Each end of that feed line has a 5/16 inch olive in it so remove the line and replace both of them. On the inlet side of the fuel filter there is another olive and its a 3/8 inch size. As these olives start leaking they are getting hard. Removing them takes some work but. Soak the ends in brake fluid over nite and they some out easy with a dental pick. As posted, they can be had many places but we feel typ4 has the best deal on them. Any good injection pump repair shop wil have them too.
