Finally got the DPS injectors & pump installed. Pafixit & I swapped everything with little trouble at all. The hardest part of the whole swap was getting the glow plug relay bracket back together & in place. This is probably only a Bank's Turbo kit specific issue.

Sunday I took it to Mel's house for a timing session & he found it to be 3.5* retarted. Staightened that out & it runs much smoother. I get a huge puff of smoke when pulling away hard from a dead stop & I've got a steady stream of medium black smoke under full pedal. But, if I drive like a human being, just a little puff at take off & nothing when driving around.

My truck is definitely running smoother & stronger. Plus, no more raw diesel smell! ;Sweet

Thanks again Joe & Mel.

Scott,
Glad you could make the great escape north yesterday. I know you were a bit bummed Saturday afternoon.

Thank your girls for entertaining my girls!

Me thinks my timing may be off also based on your smoke assesment.

I went for a test ride with Scott after the timing, and was really impressed. Of course, I think I'm not used to riding with wastegated guys, but the boost and EGT's was mighty fine in my book. ;Sweet

Anytime you want to go let me know. I apologize for not calling or PMing with info on the gathering, but it was pretty last minute by the time things got finalized.

I'd be more than happy to help with your install if you decide to do it. Hell, I'll even let ya bleed in my driveway LOL.

If your timing is off, I want to go for another ride after it's done. I think your truck runs better than mine!!!!

Man, it is about time you got that rig up to date. Just kidding, I know you are going to like the IP and Injectors, they made me a believer again. Scotty

I've had mine in a little over a week and they are great! Love the performance. Had to change the clutch to a 12 inch Kevlar/metalic South Bend Clutch. Made all the difference. Now I can actually use the power produced by Ken's fuel toys. Made a big difference in my truck. The Banks (maxed out the wastegate adjustment) is having a hard time keeping up with the fuel! Rock on Ken!
