I went to the salvage yard today looking for a replacement #8 injector line. Mine has the wrong one on it now and has no clamps on that side. I actually found one and was able to get all the lines, still hooked to the IP for $30. Seemed like the way to go to me!

I also picked up a class 4 hitch for 25 more dollars. Good trip to the yard today for sure.

I have tried to post a picture of the tags on the pump. I am assuming if it were rebuilt, the tag would say it, but this one does not. I bet it is wore out, but for the money...I took it.

I also ordered some energy suspension urethane radius arm bushings today. Anybody use have any experience with these. Do they make a difference in the feel of the steering? New Bilsteins coming for the front as well.

Yes I used there bushings an man what a difference an a major pia to install woof lol. Anyways work great my bushing have 45k look great still but the plastic oring on the back side has fallen apart. Hmm not sure how good they are but did make a large difference compared to the old brittal ones that were fallin apart. I have there body mounts as well there are good an don't squeak. Both were picked up on amazon.com for less that 150 dollars.

You're probably right to suspect the IP. Any IP you receive, of unknown provenance, and which you have not seen running, should be considered a core, suitable only for rebuilding. By all means try it on your truck, but don't expect too much.

The clamps you mentioned on the injector lines are a MUST HAVE. Without them those hard lines will vibrate themselves to death.

Yep.....the new set is missing one of the clamps, but my truck has that one clamp. Between the two, I now have all the clamps.

I'm not going to use this pump on my truck as my pump seems to still be ok. No weird smoke or terribly hard start conditions, but one day when I need a new moose pump, this might be the core I send so my truck won't be down too long. Plus, with these pumps being 20 years old, all the cores we can save will keep these trucks on the road longer as long as guys like Mel are around.

Nice find for the money. Collecting cores like this is really what some of us should do. Mel can use them plus... Your not sitting down waiting for a ny pump to get to you. Just ship when you need to suply a core or keep it till later on when you need a core. As far as running a yard pump... thats a take chance kinda thing. you have no idea whats inside that... any water, rust of crap will ruin the injecters. So understand that may happen before you try running any yard pump. Those trucks got in the yards someway. Now of course if you found a really nice looking well taken care of wrecked truck.. I would try running that pump with little worries about it being clean inside...

The PickNPull on Baseline down in Little Rock has 2 or 3 idi's and 2 PS's - or at least they did about 2.5 weeks ago.
