Mahle makes a standard and low comp piston for the 6.9 but it will not be the large pin type piston. They have a hard anadoised finish on the tops. You also can buy other makers pistons without the hard anadoising on top. Then you have them ceramic coated. I feel that works better than the hard anadoised tops. For my motor I bought the Mahle low comp hard anadoised pistons with the large pins (33MM) and then milled off 12 thousands off the tops and bead blasted off the rest of the anadoising. Then I had the Tech Line CBX ceramic coating applied. These pistons have been up near 1200 degrees several times for short peroids. Maybe about 2 or 3 seconds each time. Its scarey up ther to me. Hell... I never have seen this motor run off the governor limits like someone we all know...:D ;p
