Is this supposed to be like this?

Front d60 yoke. I noticed as I was putting things back together for a final check that there is a small groove around the yoke like where the seal would ride. Is that normal or am I ordering a new yoke and shimming again.

new yoke. but it wont effect the pinon depth unless you have a crush sleeve

that is a groove worn in from the seal. as stated speedy sleeve or new yolk

There is a good possibility the new seal will run in a different spot. IMO that little line is nothing. But after wrenching for 35 years I know what I can get away with
