hey guys i heard there is a torqe screw on the idi turbo ip i was wondering if there in one on the N/A ip??

Not sure what you mean. There's one inside of the trap door on the passenger side of pump which is to increase fuel put out. The screw on the turbo pump has proved to be of no use but emissions.

oh okay i saw this guy on youtube he had a 6.9 and he said he had both fuel screws turned up..

Having the pump without the "torque screw" is like having the torque screw turned all the wayy up.

Mel gave a good reason to leave the torque screw alone. If any kind of fuel adjustment is wanted or needed then you remove the palte found on the passenger side of the injection pump. It looks like home plate in baseball. It has 2 bolts that have a 1/4 inch hex head. Use something to wash off this plate before you remove it. Any dirt. And i really mean any dirt. Even that dirt thats so small you don't see it will ruin the pump internals. I use brakeclean. Then as the fuel is draining out of the cover when I'm removing it I get it off the pump and place it on a white paper towel. Then cover it with another clean paper towel. The engine usually needs to be cranked to get the 5/32 allen wrench adjustment screw in place. a flashlite and a mirror helps to see into this tiny area. Then you turn the wrench towards the front of the truck to increase or towards the rear to decrease the fuel. Just one or teo flate of the allen wrench is about all you do at one adjustment. It wont take much to increase or secrease the fuel. Now use brakeclean to wash off the cover plate thats under the paper towel with brakeclean. Let it dry but do not rub it ot even touch it. Replace it and your done with the fuel adjustment. One added note... Never ever try to adjust the fuel on any engine without at least a pyro on the exhaust. You need to know what the exhaust temp is at all times when you have made any fuel adjustments. If you don't have a pyro and you turn up the fuel you have a good chance of melting pistons because of high exhaust temps....

usually the serp belt trucks (turbo or not) have the external torque screw

It's an emission screw kinda like a smoke puff limiter. You can adjust to let the fuel come at higher boost. As for location I believe left side on closer to the back side of the pump it could be on right but pretty sure it's the left

It has nothing to do with boost. It limits the travel of the metering valve in the pump. If it is screwed in at all, that pump will deliver less fuel (at the same internal screw setting) than one without the torque screw.

less fuel=less boost yes it was put there for emissions.

What I meant was boost does not control fueling through the torque screw.

My thoughts on what you see on utube are not something you really want to be doing. Some of whats on their is pure crap. Asking here will get the best truth one can ask for. Other ford diesel sites are not so fair about the truth too. I have been on other sites and this is the best for honest information given out freely to anyone asking. There is a lot on research that goes into my answers just like many other members too.
