Now as for tractors -I was very partial to the JD twins. I had one for 30 years never a major repair till I let my son use it. Farmal cubs were great little tractors -I bought one once paid 300 for it in the morning put points in it cleaned the carb -sold it for $2000 that afternoon. Actually I wanted to keep it but $$ was tight (I was hauling my stuff to OK and returning to MA with loads to help cover expenses. Fuel $$ was awsome.

I have a case 310 w/loader that will be passed on to my grandson-I'd never part with it. I got a 27 HP Kubota cheap 2 years ago (I mean cheap-had to look the other way when I was paying him what he asked) with finish mower - bush hog & roto tiller ,needed a clutch & wireing work. Great machine I mow all our neighbors yards (6 of them,some are elderly and a younger couple dealing with cancer) it uses less fuel that my old riding Murry (junk).

Nice fridge! I actually have a HUGE IH chest freezer from the 40's sitting in my entry. It's so big the cinderblock entry was actually built around it! It was in continual use since it was made till about 2 years ago when it finally gave up the ghost. It was a nice machine, it was pretty ******* the electric bill though, My new one is WAY more efficient. I use it for storing tack at the moment. I thought about selling it but I don't think anyone would want it. And as far a tractors go I'm to poor to really have much brand loyalty But we had a Super M that sure worked well. Also a small ford and a few JD 4020's...I'll tell ya what, I am partial to a good 4020.

when the binder bug sinks it's rusty little teeth in, hang on and lockup your wallet. the only cure is to buy more IH stuff. i've had it since i was 14, and i see no cure other than to aquire anything IH i can get my hands on. i've just learned to live with it....and love it!

x2. I've had the Binder bug since I was a little kid. My Dad has always have IH Cub Cadets (I am actually a member on the forum you linked to Jon. I have 2 IH Cub Cadets now). I grew up in farm conutry and seeing all the IH's from small to BIG was cool. I also loved the trucks. Once of the first vehicles I drove was a 1977 Loadstar dump truck. Gas engine, and a 5x2 drive line. Had to go find 4th.... I have always wanted a Scout, and an IH pickup. As a kid going to the IH dealer to get parts for the Cub's was always a treat. We would spend what seemed like hours there, climbing on an looking at everything I could. I could have gone broke in the toy showroom...... I NEEDED one of EVERYTHING!!!!! I would love that binder fridge!!!! IH's are just like Lays Potato Chips, you can't have just one.

The most important thing to remember:
Crops are green, Tractors are RED!!!!

Pretty funny, considering a 1950's refridgerator was no where near $250! I bet the lights dim a tad when the compressor kicks in. Probably uses Amonia for refridgerent too.

A DIESEL CUB!!!!!! I want one so bad. One day I WILL have a 782D or a 1512....etc!!! The do all the work with half the fuel. Sorry, but yours isn't a "real" Cub Cadet, it is to new. The last IH Cub Cadet was made in 1981 and was a Red 82 series tractor. Yours is a CCC which is after the sell-off to MTD. It is still ver similar to the IH 82 series, but not made by IH. One big difference it yours has a cast aluminum rear end, the IH's had a cast iron rear end.

I have a couple, one is a parts tractor, and my worker is a 1450 ('77 model year). Dad has 3, 2 149's ('72 and '74 model years) and a 782 ('80 model year). He has had the 1972 149 since '78!!!

achem... mine had the iron rear. lol tubes are aluminum, but center is cast. it is a hydro unit. i built this thing myself.it is a 680 hydro. 3 cyl kubota, honda civic radaitor, ford 1 wire alternator. still need to finish it. i want to sand it down and paint it the 82 series scheme.

and if it does decide to blow the tractor apart, the motor will go into the golf cart behind it.

oh boy here we go again....

the only tractors i own are IH or ford....i got me an IHC 110 and an 1210. the 110 was bought new by my grandfather and has only had a short hiatus before it came back to the property it was bought for. im saving that work a refurb project with the boy when hes a bit older...

the 1210 i just need to put the motor back together on.

the ford tractor i got is a 51 or 51 8n with a wagnor bucket and a sherman backhoe. it needs a bunch of work but i plan on resurrecting it this summer.

my friend has a IH M1 Garand and a Gereral motors M1 garand. he leaves the IH one in the gun safe and uses te GM one now and then.

I think of tractors like everything else they are great when they are running. I almost bought a jd 3020 but it was sold out from under me, I think the guy was offered more money on it or something. They are expensive. As long as there doesn't end up being anything major wrong with this 666 I feel I am getting a great price and they don't seem to be real common so I like that also.

I likes me some Olivers. 1950 with a 4-53 Detroit. Sounds sweet when you put a load on'er. Also got my 88 diesel that I play with too.
