Well all, I've kept my cool through this

. Anyways I'm what I would like to call F'd in the A.....I'm in a bad way for sure

. So I went and rested a little bit, took a nap, and decided it was time to go back out there and finish up. Well, not to my suprise cause I did prepare myself for the worse......my two G code injectors were stripped like a mother....I mean bad. So I tried as best as I could to fix it, get the lines on right, and hopefully strip the threads back into the right position. Anyways, I ended up making things worse, and at that point I was like F it, I'm going for it. I went and tightened down the suckers are much as I could, but I could tell they werent as low as all the other lines on the injectors. Well I start it up, it idle's a little better, still seems like it has a big cam in it though. I get out, sure enough fuel is coming from the bottom of the injector lines. So I went at it again, tightened those suckers down even more. Fixed it for a while, but they started leaking again. At this point, I was way past the point of no return, so I again tightened them down more (got to the point where I couldnt turn the wrench anymore), and yet they still werent on all the way. Started it up, leaks were better, but still leaking. Went to the shop got some RVT......the cap was off....so most of it was dry, I cut the container in half and had enough RVT to just engulf the injetor in....stopped the leak, though I knew it needed more, cause I didnt really get it all the way around.
So what started out as good intentions has cost me a couple hundred bucks. I'm kinda like oh well....chit happens......its not like my life has been peachy lately.
Anyways, for the test drive. I pull out of our driveway, 1/3 throttle cause I wasnt even close to temp (water temp wasnt even regestering on my ISSPRO 100-240* gauge. Went into 2nd gear, and holy crap I heard a sound that scared the hell out of me. I could hear one cylinder miss firing real bad, I mean real fricking loud. I was like oh chit I dont wanna mess anything up, so I was looking for a good place to turn around. I got into 3rd gear, and it went away, so I was relieved. And much to my suprise acceleration at that throttle input was better than with my BB codes (both with the high idle going). It felt better with the G codes. So I kept on driving, everything seemed fine, I stopped a couple miles down the road, and sure enough those 2 injectors are leaking pretty good. Oh well, I'll have to go find some more RVT

. Anyways I kept driving, went WOT....at operating temp....felt a little stronger, not much....but my truck was much quieter so I think its running a little more retarted than before. It could all be a plasebo affect, cause it wasnt like crazy, cut 0-60 times by a second, it would be more of like 1/2 a second at the most...but it felt a little stronger. Well my leaks worsened, my big cammed motor at idle came back.
These were used injectors though.....but still seemed like a little bit of a performance gain.
But since I *****'ed 2 of them, I'm up a creek without a paddle so to speak. I need a link to that one site that has new injector lines......need them for number 3 and 7 cylinders. I'm going to just rebuild my BB codes, cause I honestly didnt think wow I'm glad I did the G code injector swap

. Maybe if I didnt mess up those injectors, and they werent leaking, all would be good, and I would advance the timing a little bit, but since I screwed them up oh well. I'll just have my BB codes spray tested, if they pass, I'll have them rebuilt, buy those injector lines (dont have time to go to a wrecking yard anymore). Hopefully I will find a good injection shop that will rebuild them good with a higher pop off rating, cause I think thats were the advantage is at for the G codes, at least it felt like it.
They didnt seem much like an emmisions injector, they put out just as much smoke as my BB codes
Accelerating up a long hill neted me a 1mph increase, but there are to many variables to say that that is what they would do.
Oh well

.
I'm my opinion, G codes are worth it if you dont mess them up and advance the timing a little.....cause with the high idle on it felt real good, and sounded like my truck does with the BB codes with the high idle off. But I dont have the money for new G codes, so I'll just referbish what I got and hopefully increase the pop off rating some (can that be done? Put G code springs inside of BB code injectors?).
Russ you got any good connections on injection shops that could do this for me?
