Inside a late design powertroke torque converter

I cut open a stock torque converter out of a late 4r100 and took some pictures to show everyone.
So here goes. If someone knows how to make these pics availble please inform me.
Here is a picture of the converter going on to the lathe.

Here is a pic of the converter being cut open, hard to see through the somke but it is in there.

Here it is all cut open.

Here is a picture of the pump showing the brazed fins in it.

Delete some posts when I'm done guys and I'll get it cleaned up thanks

The little notches on the inside there retain a wear plate known as an "812 washer' seen here

That wear plate rides against the plastic stator caps on the stator.

the rear side of the stator is not much different. There is a one way roller clutch inside this unit.

Here is a picture of the turbine with the plastic washer that seperates it from the lockup piston.

Here is a picture of the bushing inside the lockup piston. Early designs had a seal here where this design uses a bushing.

Here is a pic of that piston installed on the turbine.

Now the parts everybody wants to see. The lockup clutches.
Here I am holding up the upper plate. The lower piston and front cover are beneath it.

Here is the lower piston again, It has friction on both sides. The upper plate only had frictions on one side of it because it was used to support one of the frictions on this lower piston.

Here is a picture of the lower piston installed into the front coverwith the upper plate on top.

Here is a picture of the front cover empty.

Last but not least is the bearing that rides in the middle of everything. This is the latest design bearing (there have been a few others) Notice it has a flange on it to prevent it from coming out of place.

So.....what are the differences with the IDI E4DOA convertor? I sure like to know since I smoke a trans at least once a year. The convertor has a real funny color to it too. Oh yea, reference vehicle is a 91 F450 w/7.3na. I have the OD override installed and a driver with binary thinking.

I will see if I can find an original e40d relic laying around, they were complete crap
