I bought a rebuilt diesellogic pump from a member here and got it installed and timed, Seems to be doing kinda ok so far. Biggest issue is it's governed at 4200 rpm's as verified by a tach. What I need is a detailed writeup about changing the spring from my old pump which maxed out close to 3800. Just wanna make sure I get this right the first time. I know about removing the top cover on them but that's about as far as I've been.

What is concerning you about having the higher governor spring installed in your pump? Members here have actually opted for the higher rpm spring.

Never swapped that spring personally, but other's have and can help you out there. But, the RPM is controlled as well by your right foot.
If no one else really drives your truck, you could just leave it alone and be careful with the throttle.

I would leave it at the 4200 rpm as long as it isn't driven by an ape.

Then you'll need to swap the spings. Again, someone will be long to help.

This gets tricky. In swapping out the spring, you are changing the calibration. Things get real hairy real quick. You may end up with a pump that doesn't run well or make you very happy. Yes, it can be done, but your rolling the dice. To replace that spring, you have to take out the govenor assembly, and there are 4 springs and 3 adjustments that you will have to knock out of whack in order to get it out and back in. Counting screw turns is your best bet, but with a different spring, some of those adjustments will need to be different, and one adjustment affects another one.
