As a final update for my enquiry, I got a pamphlet in the mail from banks enclosing what is supposed to look like an official looking evaluation of my "1986". Came with a generic butt kissing letter that includes references to a previous conversation that I never had with anyone from banks.
It was probably just an automated reply, and no sales rep ever tried to call back again (have these guys heard of Email???). The pamphlet is just a sales brochure that summarizes the exact information that is published on the banks website. I've been using it as a place mat for breakfast the last few mornings because I'm too lazy to throw it out.
Over all a waste of time to try finding a human on the other side, it seems...
Having said that, I would still buy a kit if I had a little more money, and a lot more time.
