Thought I would add some pictures of the project progress. I haven't done much with the engine right now since I am still working on transmission ideas. Tire and wheel swap. I took the ten 11.00-20 split ring wheels and tires off. I am installing the 16.00s(53" tall x 16" wide) on 5 ton combat wheels (bead locks)

Today I am working on getting the tires cleaned out and mounted on the wheels. It kind of slow with the wheels being 150lbs each and the tires being 320-340lbs each.

I will be regrooving the tires down on the center and then doing some siping cuts on the outer lugs.

I'd love to have a 6x6! Ultimate wood cutting rig. My dad was in the army reserve in the 70's and he worked on the multifuel trucks. Hes been wanting one of these trucks to tinker with. Parts easy to get for these military trucks still??

Yes pretty easy, just gotta wait on getting them unless u know a surplus place to drive to. Or government liquidation.

I do not like the multifuel, due to the lack of power, having to wait for parts from a surplus supplier, NOISE level, and general overall design. I pulled my LDS-465 out of my M61 5ton and going with a well built 6.9. I have 8.88 gears in a 5ton rockwell. it is never going to break due to engine torque but higher rpm and road speed helps.

There is a guy in Salina, KS that has a good many for sale. Most M35s can go for 2k - 6k depending on condition. 5 tons can go for 3k-20k depending on model.
