Aight so I got some work done today and some figured compiled and i thought i would share them with you guys. The power steering pump is the only thing i am unsure of as I am varing between 2 things.

Complete 6.9L diesel engine from bus with bell housing adapter, clutch kit, and flywheel.- $500
Air compressor from an S1600-puts out 9cfm- which is more than enough to run air tools. - $95
AGR power steering pump with remote reservoir - built to my flow and pressure specs- $370 - its one of my choices to choose.
Camshaft from Typ4 - getting some rpm figures together for each gear so he will have a power band range - $230
Head studs from Summit w/ gaskets and all - $400
Belts - $30
Coolant - $80
Hoses - $40
Coolant filter kit $50
Motor mount crossmember for the front welding in $40 in supplies.
Electric fan system- includes 2 fans, all wiring, fuse links, and switches - $100
Exhaust work- going to run straight 2 1/2" or 3" pipes from each manifold straight to stacks - Unless I find a turbo for an S1600 for cheap- $250
A few other nicknacks for less than $100.

Puts me right about $2,300 for all listed. I might hold off on the head studs since I will have alot of room to do the work in the engine bay to do them later on. I might even hold off on the cam and see how it does stock with the 8.88s. I may also run the electric fans since I have a HUGE fan shroud that isnt going to be near the stock fan on the engine. Anything else I am missing anyone can think of?

iirc most duces got one stack id run 2 3in pipes to a y then 4 to stack thatll be plenty and you can easily add any turbo you want later down the road but its still a duce so speed aint a concern 45 its happy

well my truck isnt a deuce. and my transmission is almost as wide as the frame and twice as big front driveshaft on the drivers side plus the big hydrasteer box unlike a deuce. I have to use the spicer 6000 series transmission cause of the air sprag transfer case. not to mention the u joint is 4x bigger than a 1410.and a twice as big driveshaft so I dont have much room between the driveshaft, oil filter housing and to go around that driveshaft. it will be tight. unless I flip the manifold and run it over the top.

Ive used the PLS before and its a great machine. Ive pulled a lot engine packs with those cranes. That is also a great looking 6x6 you got there. Oh and good luck on the swap.

yeah one of the guys on steelsoldiers picked up an 8x8 and decided he wanted bigger so he picked up a PLS for 92k in good shape. There is a Mk17 on steelsoldiers in GA for 7k. i thought out it but its a heavy unit to tow back this far.

Oh my other exhaust problem is going to be the pto shaft for the 20k front winch on the passengers side. so i am thinking it is going to have to be a high mounted turbo not to mention i have a adapter to sae 2 bell housing so its longer than the standard 6.9.

Here are some, will take more tomorrow.the one looks crappy cause I was making a hard top for it rather than spend $700 on a replacement one. So i did the wood hard top for $60

I dunno man! That 6 cylinder looks boss! But yes, I'm in favor of the swap. We need more IDI's in things.

I agree we need more IDIs in things. My dad was wanting to get a 71 or 72 IH pickup and do a 7.3 IDI in it. Would it fit?
