05 and up on top
03 or 04 on bottom

4C3Z-9A543-AARM is the part # for the 04.5 HPOP (w/ wavy oil rails).

The OEM pumps are not that reliable.

btw - not a big fan of sinister diesel ..............

The only one I would get is the Dieselsite Adrenaline pump

Bismic is correct on the years. The iron one is 2004.5 and on. I own a early 6.0 and it has the rounded guy

I have had good luck Motorcraft pumps and BWD pumps myself.

Just be very cautious of the oil use! Shell Rotella T-4 is fine

The iron one didn't make it into the 04.5's, just the 05 and up.

04.5 did get an upgraded pump to go along w/ the wavy oil rails, but it was still the "rounded guy".

Over on another forum, a guy just recently posted about his 03 engine HPOP experience. It failed at 200k miles (so not bad), but the new OEM pump he put in failed at less than a year. There are a number of posts about failures "out-of-the box". Probably not a great percentage when you look at the entire number of 03 and 04 engines out there, but the aftermarket has some better solutions. Corey at CNCFab sells an upgraded one that is cheaper than the Adrenaline and doing very well for reliability. He would be a good one to talk to.

Back in 2011. My 03 HPOP took a dump. I bought an Reman Motorcraft Pump for it. Haven’t had a problem as of yet. Maybe knock on wood. Been doing very well.

Lately I have been changing out a lot of the newer style pumps with about 100,000 miles - 150,000 miles on them.
