Hydro-boost is what chevy has called it for many years. It gets it's vaccum from the p.s. pump to run the brakes. Is there now vacuum at the wastegate after changing the vac pump?

I haven't talked to him since this morning when he told me about the balancer. Hopefully I'll be able to let you know after work tomorrow. He said the vac gauge didn't read when hooked straight to the pump today. I wonder if the solenoid wasn't bad in the first place? Just the pump? He doesn't have a boost gauge so it will just have to be seat of the pants to tell if it totally fixes it.

When the truck is running take the vacuum line off at the wastegate actuator, on the turbo. There should be vacuum there. Hook it back up and make sure you cannot move the wastegate.

Ok, Carlton said he replaced the dampener and the pump. All seems to be well now. He hasn't put a load on it yet but he said there is definitely a difference in the way it pulls itself. I'd say we have it whipped. Thanks for the help guys.
