how to properly seal oil pan?

I prefer " The Right Stuff" rtv. However, it sure isn't fun when it comes time to remove it.. I do as Al said.. Apply the rtv, set pan on and lightly squish, then let set, then tighten bolts.

These pans really aren't that hard to seal.. especially not if you have it out ! I always do mine in the truck..

Yea I will because it was sucking air somewhere. How tight should the pan be?
