I just put pillar gauges on my truck and its a stck 2001 auto with close to 300k on the od. It only pushed 12-13 pounds of boost it seams low to me. I though maybe it migh thave a boost leak or maybe the wastegate spring is worn out? its an outometer gauge and it will only show boost if im really on it above 2000 rpm.

You must have some leaks somewhere.
Check up pipes, intercooler boots, heck even the intercooler, make sure the ebpv isn't closing, check movement of the wastegate.

What would be the best way to check for leaks? I dont think its the ebpv valve because when i put the new exhaust on it was all the way open.

Exhaust back pressure valve. It's the think on the end of the turbo that the downpipe bolts to.
For boost leaks you can use soapy water.
For exhaust just look for black soot everywhere.

on the old downpipe there was a bit of black on it so i think the up pipes might be leaking could that be dropping boost that much? just went for another rip got the boost to peak at 15 psi is that still low?

Yeah that's low. Iirc, you should be able to hit mid 20's.
Believe it or not, Dorman actually sells a good bellowed up pipe set for your truck. I would do that over repairing the leaks that are currently there.

You can go up to 40 PSI boost with no damage, that is if you can get there on a stock engine. LOL.

This 2002 F 350 is new to me and i cant believe they pit a trans temp gauge but not a boost gauge on it.
Well it sounds simple enough just take off the red wastegate hose and cap off both ends ?
Is that what im hearing ?
Any teccomendations on gauges for these Powerstroke s ?
I have 2 1/16 gauges in my 94 turbo from factory IDI.

Boost isn't important. Fun to watch but it's basically meaningless.
Egt, coolant temp, trans temp, fuel pressure. Those are good to watch.
Oil temp isn't that important, but it already reports to the pcm.
You could get a monitor to read oil temp, coolant temp, injector control pressure, IPR duty cycle.
