Do glow plug controllers get intermittent before they die? Or do they just crash?? I have been having an occassional problem with my 93 IDI no turbo CC F-350. Happened again this morning - truck didn't start, though the light cycled normally. Then I listened and did not hear the clickety click I usually hear when the plugs cycle. Tried turning it off for 2 minutes and trying again, and on the third try I heard the clickety click and the thing fired instantly. Could my controller be going bad?>? Or does anyone have any other ideas about what may be wrong?? Thanks. SIncerely, Andy

Sounds to me like you've answered your own question. I think your GP Controller is intermittent. If they have contacts in them, these can pit and become poor conductors.
