I've done this on several jeeps, but has anyone ever installed hood vents or louvered their hood to let heat out?

They look cool. If your engine needs the louvers for cooling, you have got big problems. I personally don't see the need for them, other than looks. I have a friend who spent some big $$$ on his Jeep hood, for louvers, and he sees no change over non-louvered.

I have a functioning 64 T bird hood scoop on my truck.

Before ceramic coating my exhaust the hood was hot enough to be painful to touch. Snow would melt off after building up after it was up to temperature which was a nice side effect....
After coating the exhaust manifolds, turbo piping, pedestal, hot side, and downpipe it is a LOT cooler. I can tow with it all day and touch the hood and its maybe lukewarm at best. Snow will not slough off anymore either - I mention this since I never took temperatures. I drove for 3 hours with a sheet on the hood to see, not even any melt as far as I could tell

On Jeeps(XJ's) I have seen significant differences in underhood temps. Wasnt sure if it was a concern with these trucks or not.

Made my own out of 2 hoods. Didn't like the aftermarket looks, so this one is a functioning 2" cowl.
