Holes on the sides of injectors

I recently did a return line kit and had some leaks afterward. Patched one of them up but the same injector head that was leaking before the return line kit is still leaking. Before I waste more extra o rings in my kit, I figured I’d ask, are these holes supposed to line up with each other?

No they aren't. The holes in the injectors are to let the extra, unused fuel back out into the return system. That fuel flows out through the holes in the caps and into the return line that geos back to the fuel tank, eventually. The O-rings on the injectors are there to keep the returned fuel sealed in between them until it exits the plastic return cap.

Okay so with that said, I replaced the o rings again and it’s still leaking from the bottom of the cap. Is it just another nicked o ring or is this a different issue? Would a leaking injector be leaking in that spot?

Don't over tighten the nuts on the lines.they can deform and they will never set perfect. On the offending injector, pull the nut up on the line and feel the steel line where it mates to the injector. If you have a big burr or lip, that might be your problem. It'll never set tight.

Also be sure to use grease or petroleum jelly on the orings during install. It will dissolve into the fuel just fine and keep everything lubed up without getting knicks. And make sure the cap is seated all the way, sometimes it takes a deep socket and a light hammer tap to get it seated.
