Help with turn signals/reverse lights

Hey everyone. So I am seeking some help with my 85 6.9 in regards to the turn signals and reverse lights. So starting with the turn signals. All four turn signals blink front and rear. They turn on and off as they should however they blink extremely fast. I am wondering what y'all think the issue may be. I've tried a few things but no luck. I'm starting to think bad relay. Now to my reverse lights. The reverse lights on the truck do not work. The socket at the rear of the truck does not get any power at all. I have tried replacing the reverse safety switch on the c6 auto tranny and that didn't fix it. I've had other people look at it and they are also at a loss. Any and all help definitely welcome. 1) change your flasher (its not a relay) this directly controls how fast they blink.

2) have you checked the incoming power to the reverse switch?
all my IDI's are manual, and in the trans, is your switch in the linkage?

If you change the flasher, get the heavy duty one used for trailer towing, I think it's located on the fuse panel. Another cause of quick flashes is a bulb burned out or extremely bright, or change all the bulbs, rusty bulbs will also cause quick flash.

Check the linkage to the C6, make sure it's in the detent in reverse, with engine OFF, Key ON, shift into reverse, crawl under and see if the shift lever will go any further into reverse.

Adjusting the neutral and reverse switches.

You should have 4 wires going to the neutral safety switch. Two of them will be the same color, red with a blue stripe. This is the neutral safety part of the switch, leave those alone.

The other two are the reverse lights. One is the power feed coming in, the other is the feed going out to the reverse bulbs in the rear.

As was mentioned, check for power on these other wires. I want to say the wire going to the rear is black/pink but I am not sure about that. If you unplug the neutral safety switch wiring plug, you should be able to jumper these other two wires and make the reverse lights come on if the key is in run.

Thanks everyone. I've got them fixed and working. The previous owner decided to cut the wire half way and put them on an auxiliary switch on the dash which makes no sense. But I figured it out and thank you everyone
