Can anyone possibly explain why the heater hoses are configured like this? Why does one have a "T" that goes to bottom of radiator and there is limited to a pin hole? What happens if the radiator is just plugged and two straight hoses are run from engine to heater? :dunno

The T that drops to the bottom of the radiator is supposedly used to warm the cold trans fluid on cold days.....or this is what I heard and read in the past.

It can be removed and capped off without any problems (as mine is currently!)

Why is the fitting in the radiator only having such a small hole for water to pass through. If indeed it is to warm the antifreeze for the trans fluid, then it will take forever with that small hole. But whatever the reason , I have eliminated the third hose. I just ran two heater hoses and put a 1/8 pipe plug in bottom of radiator. I will bring back the results for everyone.
