Anyone ever had a head gasket leak that sounded like an exhaust leak?
I had this real high pitch squealy sound for a while, only at higher rpm's, then one day it quit and was replaced by a puffy exhaust leak sound. I thought it was the sealer I had around and in the downpipe from the turbo poped out and I knew I also had at leak at the turbo downpipe.
This weekend I wraped wrags around the downpipe leak area as to muffel the sound still I had the popey exhaust leak sound. all from the passenger side, nowhere else can I find any black sout areas that might indicate a leak any where else.
I have no pressure build up in the rad. no coolant leaks and had the oil checked at blackstone.
I have driven this thing for three months like this and can't stand it anymore.
My thoughts are this, I need a new cultch anyway, pull the engine, replace the clutch, then put on head studs, have the heads redone and call it done. I just really hate to pull the motor again, but it ain't that much harder than laying on your back pulling the tranny and puttin in a clutch.
