My truck will start after 1 revolution when cold but refuses to start when it gets to temp if I let it set until it cools down but then it is hard to start. but if i let it get cold it starts perfect. I am thinking/hoping that if I get it timed that will fix it. I do know it is out of time but it has new GP and IP.

By brown truck did this because the IP had over 160k miles on it.

But, you mentioned you have a rebuilt IP on there? That's not to say that who ever rebuilt it didn't overlook a worn piston/distributor section though...

On my brown truck, if it was up to temp and wouldn't start I could pour a cup of room temperature tap water on the IP and it would fire right up.

Sounds like heat soak to me too Justin. If that is the case, that IP is in need of a rebuild.
