Well I found out we had a different year transmission in the truck than it's model year. John Woods is sending me a new accumulator body and we'll see how she shifts.

96 was a one of a kind E4OD.

Just wanted to follow up, we got another valve body from John Woods, I guess the 96 has a different design than most other years. Once we got this installed the truck shifts great. John Woods shipped the replacement VB no extra charge and was very helpful.

96 is a mutt year E4. There were some internal changes that makes this one an odd ball.
