Might be that, might be fuel system problems - you bump any return lines while working? How clean were the wires you crimped onto?
You can test how wore a glowplug is by measuring resistance, but you'd have to know the resistance range of a 'good' one too
I think a worn injection pump will be hard to start when cold, and then seals up better when warm. But I'm not sure on that... I know the other symptons/signs but wasn't sure about this one ^
