After almost a year of battling a glow plug and timer problem I finally fixed it. Problem was the timer was not working properly, it was coming on and staying on untill it timed out at like 25 secs regardless of temperature. After replacing glow plugs, timer, and a custom made harness and also checking the timer ground it was still not working right.
The other day I was replacing the lift pump and the frame ground that runs from the block to the frame looked pretty crappy so I cleaned it up good. To my surprise the glow plug timer started to work. I had been so used to the way the timer was working I thought the whole thing was messed up again. Now with it working right the truck starts better than ever in the mornings, I believe the ground was also effecting the power delivery to the plugs. I would have never thought a frame ground would cause so much problems. To bad the truck is for sale now, I'm going to miss the IDI
