Gauge Questions...

Any reason why my transmission temp gauge wouldn't work? I mounted the sensor that came with my Banks turbo kit in the sensor port of my Permacool transmission filter head. Wired up. Not sure how to check for voltage, etc.

The gauge I'm using is the Banks gauge that matches their boost and pyro gauges that come with the turbo kit.

Finally, I'm considering ditching the Banks gauges in favor of some digital gauges. I'm not sure if the Banks gauges are fully electrical or if there are miscellaneous tubes coming into the cab of my truck to drive the gauges. I'm assuming digital gauges would be fully electronic... just not sure what a good, matching setup would be.

I had that same gauge your speaking of and you need to make sure that it's got a good ground on the sender. Meaning that the sender uses the filter head as the ground so make sure it's firmily mounted to the metal, then make sure you got power to gauge head. After that it should work.

I'll check that out... How do I test for voltage? Multimeter to frame and filter head?

mike you'll be testing for conductance between the filter head or the body of the sender unit (not the blade) and ground on the truck.
