Fuel pump question

My friend is offering to give me his factory electronic lift pump from his 24 valve cummins. My question is will it work to replace the factory mechanical lift pump. I'm not going inline I'm just eliminating the mechanical one.

Don't know much about them...pressure etc...if not too high ...should be ok...you want about 7lbs pressure IIRC

Ok well I don't think it will work then. It's supposed to be like 16 psi. What exactly would that extra pressure do that can be bad?

Excessive pressure will change injection timing. This is a feature deliberately built into the DB2. Stick with the factory recommended pressure.
