While back i replaced my front tank then my FSV went bad. Replace the FSV and ran new fuel lines for both rear and front tanks. Original sending unit is in the front, when i wired up the aftermarket FSV i accident wired my tank gauges backward so when i select rear i read front, haven't switched the wiring yet but not a big deal. I also put in inline fuel filters before the FSV, i can see fuel being pumped thru the filters on both tanks when i select either one so i am getting fuel. When i select the front tank and are driving along i get random pulses of power and acceleration that last only a second or two. When i give it a lot of gas like when going up a steep hill i throw a lot more black smoke than usual but seem to have less power than when running off the rear tank. Also my idle when on the front tank is different seems higher and doesn't sound smooth. When i shut the truck down and go to start again i get a rough start every time but then smooths out. I'm stumped by this do i need a new sending unit, maybe the filter in it is clogged? I have no leaks anywhere, the fuel in the front tank is kinda old maybe six months. Haven't had the time to drop the tank again. Any one have this before?
